  Republic of Mauritius. The CPI measures prices of goods and services acquired by private households; the July 2024 methodology gives its scope as all private households of the Republic, and prices of non-perishable items are collected monthly in the nine districts of the island of Mauritius and in Rodrigues. These files restate the scope only for the current basket; the earlier bases are the same national series and are loaded at the same scope, which is an inference. Never compared with, or divided by, a figure for the island alone.

  Published rates are the official figures, compiled from the index values and conventions in force when each was published. Statistics Mauritius explained on 25 September 2026 that after a rebasing the earlier indices are linked to the new base with linking factors, and that rates already published are not revised; a rate recomputed from the linked historical index can therefore differ slightly at the decimal from the published one, as in the months noted as discrepancies. MorisLens serves the published rates and does not recompute them (decision E5).

Table 3.1 (1993-2000) states no scope; it is drawn from the same Survey of Employment and Earnings in large establishments, which includes Rodrigues from 1991, and is loaded at the same scope, which for those years is an inference.   Reference months. Tables 3.1 and 3.2 are yearly indices from a survey conducted for the month of September (1993-2006). From 2007 the survey is quarterly: the first to fourth quarters of 2007 and 2008 were conducted in February, May, August and November, and from 2009 the quarterly indices are based on wage rates applicable in March, June, September and December. A quarter's index is therefore one month's wage rates, and a 'Year' before 2007 is September's.

  Large establishments only (employing 10 or more persons: sugar cane plantations of 10 hectares or more, tea plantations of 2 hectares or more, other establishments employing at least 10 persons, and all central, regional and local government departments), as at March of each year. Tables 2.1(b) and 2.1(c) state that foreign workers and Rodrigues are included from 1991; the later tables do not restate it. Industries are classified by ISIC Rev. 2 for 1991-1999, by the National Standard Industrial Classification for 2000-2006 and by NSIC Rev. 2 for 2007-2025: three different lists, never joined industry by industry.
