Published observations with their sources, definitions and missing values.
A whole series spans its indicator's published years; a breakdown spans the years it is published for, and opens on the latest of them. A missing year stays unavailable, and a requested year is kept even when it is not published.
The digests publish road-user class; the half-yearly releases publish road-user category. These classifications are separate and never merged. Similarly named groups are not interchangeable. The publisher has not supplied a confirmed correspondence for pillion passengers in the class scheme; no allocation is inferred.

Fatalities on the Island of Mauritius: in 2024 (provisional), Rider (auto/moto cycle) had the highest value with 57.

- Definition change 2002Fatal accident and fatality: death within 30 days of the accident. Before 2002 the limit was 7 days.
- Discrepancy 2022D16: in digest 2022-24, fatalities by class of road user differ between Table 31, which gives the island figures, and the Total row of Table 36, by police district: 2022 passengers 22 and 23, riders 44 and 43; 2024 drivers 20 and 19, riders 57 and 58 (2023 agrees). The police-district figures do not add up to the island's for those classes.
